FCA to play charity match in Dinkelscherben
Friendly during the international break against Ulm
Major floods at the start of June caused massive devastation in Swabia and Bavaria. The municipality of Dinkelscherben in the district of Augsburg was particularly affected. In order to help the victims of the flooding, FC Augsburg will play a charity match on Thursday, 5th September (17:30) at the GW-TEC Arena in Dinkelscherben against second-division side SSV Ulm 1846.
“We knew right away at FC Augsburg that we wanted to help people after the catastrophic flooding. I was in Dinkelscherben myself and personally saw the massive damage that was caused,” said FCA’s CEO Michael Ströll. “After already supporting the fantastic work done by Schwabenhilfe Augsburg, we came up with the idea of playing a charity match during the international break. Together with SSV Ulm, we’re hoping for a great crowd on 5th September to financially support the victims of the flooding.”
Ticket proceeds will be donated
FCA, SSV Ulm and the Bavarian Football Association (BFV) have agreed to donate the ticket proceeds to victims of the flooding in the regions of Augsburg and Ulm. Exact fundraising goals are yet to be decided. Tickets for the game are available now on FCA’s online shop (€2.50 delivery fee) and at the club’s main office (Bürgermeister-Ulrich-Straße 90). Tickets may also be available on the day depending on availability. An adult ticket costs €10, while concessions will pay €8. Kids up until the age of 14 can attend for just €5.
