West Ham’s Declan Rice has agreed personal terms to join Arsenal this summer, according to reports, amid Man Utd and Bayern Munich links.

The England international has just one year left on his contract at the London Stadium but the Hammers do have the option to extend the deal for another season.

Rice has made it clear that he wants to play Champions League football as soon as possible with widespread reports insisting that Premier League runners-up Arsenal have been leading the race to sign him for a while.

There was one report from a Spanish journalist over the weekend that claimed Rice was ‘close’ to a move to Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich – but transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has doubted those claims.

Romano told FootballFanCast: “From what I told, I really respect all the sources as you know but, in this moment, I’m told that nothing is done for Declan Rice with Bayern or with any other club.

“Bayern will try, for sure. Arsenal will make a bid after the Conference League final so the race is still open. Man United also have an interest this is the reality but at the moment nothing decided yet.”

Man Utd have also been linked with Football Insider claiming over the weekend that .

that the staff at Man Utd have ‘failed to come to a consensus about a move’ for Rice and that ‘a turnaround is required for a formal approach from Old Trafford to follow’.

But now Football Insider insists that Rice ‘has verbally agreed personal terms with Arsenal ahead of a potential summer move’ although ‘a fee for the 24-year-old is yet to be agreed by the two clubs’.

They add that ‘a well-placed source’ acknowledges that ‘the situation remains changeable’ but Rice has said ‘yes’ to Arsenal as he ideally ‘wants to remain in London’,

The main potential stumbling block remains the transfer fee with Arsenal looking to pay between £80m and £85m to land Rice, whereas West Ham are still hoping to close out a £100m transfer.

Former Scotland international Ally McCoist thinks Rice should choose Arsenal over Manchester United this summer as they have the “potential” to get near Manchester City “quicker”.

McCoist told talkSPORT: “It’s a funny one. Over the weekend and over the season, if I’m Declan Rice and I’m weighing up my options, I am thinking I’d probably rather go to Arsenal than Manchester United.

“I still think Arsenal are well behind Manchester City, but I think they’ve got the potential to get nearer to them quicker.”
