1. FSV Mainz 05 will be kitted out by team sports specialists JAKO for the 2023/24 season. The club have agreed to an early end to their partnership with current outfitter Kappa, which was originally set to run until the end of June 2025. The agreement will now end on 30th June 2023. The Italian sportswear manufacturer had been the official kit supplier of Mainz 05 since 2020.

SV Werder Bremen lost 2-1 (0-0) at home to SC Freiburg and despite taking the lead came away without any points. After both sides couldn’t produce much quality in the first half, the Green-Whites had success straight after the restart. Maximilian Philipp scored after a great pass from Leonardo Bittencourt to make it 1-0 (46’), but this gave the visitors from Freiburg added motivation. First, Roland Sallai equalised to make it 1-1 (66’), before Lucas Höler scored the decisive goal to make it 2-1 (71’). In the end, Ole Werner’s team didn’t manage to come back despite having chances.
