On Thursday afternoon, the DFL publicised the dates and times of the fixtures to be played on matchdays 6-12 of the 2024/25 Bundesliga season. SVW will play twice in the prime time Saturday evening slot with kick-off at 18:30 CEST, firstly at home to Bayer Leverkusen, before travelling to face Eintracht Frankfurt. There are further away trips lined up against Wolfsburg and Gladbach, both on Sundays at 17:30 CEST.

Head coach Jess Thorup was without 12 first-team players as his side prepared to face last season’s 3. Liga champions from Ulm during the international break. Several academy players were included in the matchday squad to take advantage of the opportunity to showcase themselves.
