After the players had moved into their rooms and unpacked their suitcases, the team and coaches were welcomed with a large selection of different types of cake and coffee specialities. Some of the players used the time until dinner to regenerate, while others took the opportunity to explore the hotel, which will be their home until Friday. The training week starts tomorrow with two public sessions at 10:30 and 16:30.

At one point, Bayern Munich looked like a serious contender to capture a treble and now the Bavarians are hoping like hell that Borussia Dortmund will suffer through a horrendous collapse…just to win the league crown.

The club’s highest governing body voted by a large majority in favour of a motion to dismiss the president. A motion to dismiss Rainer Adrion did not achieve the necessary majority but the vice president nevertheless announced his resignation.

The main focus of the trip was to prepare for the new season, particularly by stepping up the intensity, but some social action also took place alongside this. FCA played two friendly matches as part of the “Mpumalanga Premier’s International Cup”, the first of which was a 2-1 victory over Young Africans SC, before they suffered a 2-1 defeat on Saturday against hosts TS Galaxy, who also worked very hard behind the scenes to ensure FCA had a pleasant stay in Mpumalanga.
