When and how did you become a Borussia Dortmund fan?
I’ve been a supporter of the club all my life. That’s mainly because of the world-famous “Yellow Wall” which I have loved since I was just a kid. For me, football games in Germany are by far the best. There’s no other country with that kind of stadium atmosphere. My favorite team in the Netherlands is Heracles Almelo. I have a season ticket just like my father, my mother and my brother. I’ve had mine since I was a little boy. It would be fantastic if Borussia Dortmund and Almelo were to play against each other some time, even if it’s only a friendly.

12 September 2023 was the day when FC Augsburg underwent an overhaul as a club, as Stefan Reuter’s immediate resignation as sporting director at the Bundesliga football club was announced. After more than 10 years at the helm, the 1990 World Cup winner vacated the sporting leadership. (Little fun fact: TSG Managing Director Alexander Rosen has since become the league’s longest-serving management executive). For FCA, Reuter’s resignation marked only the start of a complete reorganisation.

The training week is starting a little differently for Michael Zetterer. For the first time this season, the 28-year-old will go into preparations for the upcoming Bundesliga match at VfB Stuttgart as a number one. Ahead of the game, Zetterer answered journalists’ questions in the Mixed Zone on his change of role from backup to first-choice goalkeeper.
