According to Sky Sport journalist Florian Plettenberg (via @iMiaSanMia), the management is now pointing fingers at Thomas Tuchel – who has only been in charge for just over three weeks – for failing to deliver expected outcomes. Pre-match facts: Borussia Dortmund vs. VfB

VfB and BVB are separated by just four points ahead of the teams’ Bundesliga clash at 18:30 CEST on Saturday. Here are the facts and figures on the game.

1. FC Union Berlin

A Historic Match

35-time Spanish champions, 20-time cup winners and record Champions League winners – Real Madrid are a club defined only by superlatives. As early as the 1950s, Real were among the world’s best and won the European Cup five times in a row between 1956 and 1960. President Santiago Bernabéu, who led Real between 1943 and 1978, is considered the father of this success, having been instrumental in professionalising the club, signing stars such as Alfredo Di Stéfano, Ferenc Puskás, Raymond Kopa and Günther Netzer, as well as building a new stadium  that bore his name from 1955 and still does to this day.

The 18-year-old, who has eight appearances to his name in Bundesliga 2 for the capital club plus another in the DFB Cup, has signed a long-term contract with the Green-and-Whites. The attacking midfielder was part of the Germany team that won the U17 European Championship last year.

SV Werder Bremen

Bringing a hard-fought point back to Bremen

SV Werder Bremen’s clash against Eintracht Frankfurt on matchday 28 ended level in every respect, with both sides finding the net once and finishing the game with ten men after two red card offences. Although the hosts had more of the ball in the first half, the Green-Whites continued to apply pressure and create chances. Milos Veljkovic opened the scoring after the break (62’), yet Werder suffered a blow shortly after as Jens Stage was sent off following a foul on Bahoya (73’). However, Frankfurt’s numerical advantage did not last for long, as Tuta was handed a straight red shortly after for a poorly-timed tackle on Felix Agu (89’).
