SV Werder recorded their third straight win on their travels away at VfL Wolfsburg on Sunday evening (4-2). The victory came at a cost, however, as Anthony Jung had to be taken off injured after 23 minutes, with Amos Pieper replacing him.
What should fans be watching for as the German national team takes Ukraine (Monday June 12th at 12PM EDT), Poland (Friday June 16th at 2:45PM EDT), and Colombia (Tuesday June 20th at 2:45PM EDT)? Let’s take a look.
Tom Bischof has used the start of the season to play himself into the spotlight at TSG. But the situation was often different last season, when the youngster only racked up 171 minutes for the first team – not enough for the junior international. “I struggled with that. I’m still young but I’m also very ambitious – I therefore don’t see myself as a classic substitute. I still need more time to find my feet, to have my moments and to show: I can help the team. But I unfortunately did not always get playing time and then did not always take my chances either – so I definitely have to be very self-critical in retrospect.”
As a former VfB full-back, Cristian Molinaro continues to follow Stuttgart’s progress. He is also well acquainted with Italian football, having laced his boots for Juventus during his playing days, while he is now technical director at Serie A club Venezia FC.
1. FC Union Berlin: Rönnow – Trimmel, Doekhi, Vogt, Leite, Rothe – Kemlein, Khedira – Skarke (27. Jeong), Vertessen (75. Benés), Hollerbach (75. Siebatcheu)
The German national team will face Ukraine on Monday at 12:30PM EDT and the coach expects his team to be ready.
Since 2011, the TSG football school has been thrilling many young football players in the region. It not only offers young footballers professional training, but also gives all children and young people their very own access to the world of TSG Hoffenheim. Be it beginners or advanced players, girls or boys, outfield players or goalkeepers – at the TSG football school, it’s all about the children. They are the starting point for everything we come up in terms of sporting and organisational ideas and offerings – the steadily increasing numbers of participants are testament to that, and a new record was set once again this year.
SV Werder Bremen came from behind to win 4-2 away at VfL Wolfsburg on Sunday evening. Tiago Tomás gave the hosts the lead (19’), before Mitchell Weiser equalised late into first-half injury time (45’+5). The second half saw Felix Agu put the Green-Whites into the lead (51’), before Marvin Ducksch added a third goal (67’). VfL’s Patrick Wimmer was shown a straight red shortly after, before Marco Grüll made it 4-1 (72’). Joakim Mæhle was able to get another goal back for the Wolves (79’), but it wasn’t enough to take the three points away from Werder.
