1. FC Union Berlin

After Hoffenheim Comes Heidenheim

Heidenheim have been, for many, the surprise package of the season (their first in the Bundesliga) so far. Though they lost 2-1 to league leaders Bayer 04 Leverkusen last weekend, before that they were unbeaten in eight games (four wins, four draws) and are currently sitting pretty in 10th place.

SV Werder Bremen

“I’m proud to have worn the Werder badge”

It was an emotional final matchday, with several Werder players and staff saying goodbye to the club. Jiri Pavlenka was among them. The goalkeeper is leaving after seven years in Bremen. The crowd greeted our long-time number 1 in song during the warm-up. The Czech has now spoken to WERDER.DE about his emotional farewell, a difficult final season and his plans for the future.

The tournament’s semi-finals will take place on 20th July, whilst the third-place play-off and the final will be held on 27th July.

Bundesliga Team of the Season nominees have now been released on FIFA 23

The season is almost over (although it may be for Bayern Munich) and some players have...

SC Freiburg

Senior international fixture in Freiburg

Oliver Leki, board member at SC Freiburg, said: “We’re pleased that an international fixture is set to be played at the Europa-Park Stadion for the first time three years after its opening. The many football fans in the region and the Germany national team can look forward to a great atmosphere in Freiburg – as is the case with SC’s home games in the Bundesliga or in Europe.”

TSG Hoffenheim

With the Bundesliga season over, eight players are now certain to spend their summer in Germany. Oliver Baumann, Maximilian Beier, Attila Szalai, Florian Grillitsch, Ozan Kabak, Wout Weghorst, Andrej Kramarić and Jacob Bruun Larsen have been named in the provisional squad for their respective home countries for the upcoming European Championships. 1. FC Union Berlin

Detour Needed

All Union fans are therefore requested to turn into Hämmerlingstraße via Bahnhofstraße and Seelenbinderstraße for the home games against Heidenheim and Dortmund.

Bayer 04 Leverkusen

Nigeria strikers Boniface and Lookman end European season in style

Speaking of Lookman, he was again among the goals as Serie A approached its conclusion on Sunday, while Senegal’s M’Baye Niang was the late, late hero for Empoli as they avoided relegation with almost the last kick of the season.

Borussia Dortmund

U23s pick up a point away to Ulm

The scenario: The U23 team coached by Jan Zimmermann defeated TSV 1860 Munich 3-0 last Sunday, thanks in no small part to a very strong second half performance. The Black & Yellows had not managed to win two games in a row since September. With just five defeats from 17 games, the young BVB side had one fewer defeat than SSV going into the game. Ulm had to move to their alternative venue in Aalen, around an hour away, because there is no under-pitch heating at their home ground, the Donaustadion.

FC Bayern München

Ryan Gravenberch could get his chance at Bayern Munich

Gravenberch wasn’t coach Thomas Tuchel’s first choice to partner Joshua Kimmich in his Bayern midfield. And he wasn’t the second, either: when the half-time substitution came, Goretzka, already on a yellow, made way for Leroy Sané in order to move Jamal Musiala into the double pivot. But Musiala failed to make his mark, either there or in the attack during the first half, and Gravenberch was brought on not long after to show what he could do.
