FCA sign forward Yusuf Kabadayi

Born in Munich, Kabadayi can operate both as a winger and a central striker. The 20-year-old came through all of FC Bayern’s youth teams, including for their second side in the Regionalliga, where he netted 13 times and provided four assists in 38 matches. Kabadayi, who also has Turkish citizenship, has been a Germany youth international since 2021, having featured a total of 18 times for their U18, U19 and U20 sides.

SC have a tough start to the season ahead of them, with head coach Julian Schuster’s side travelling to face Bayern the following week (30.08-01.09). The first international break of the season will then follow, before SC return to Bundesliga action at home against VfL Bochum on the weekend of 13th to 15th September.

The German Football League (DFL) released the fixture list for the new Bundesliga season on Thursday, which will open with the meeting between Borussia Mönchengladbach and defending champions Bayer 04 Leverkusen on 23 August. VfL Wolfsburg get started with a real cracker, hosting record champions FC Bayern Munich on the weekend of 24/25 August.

The Fuggerstädter’s first away day of the season will take them to Heidenheim, before two more home games at the WWK Arena against Bundesliga new boys St. Pauli and a resurgent Mainz 05. “We’re delighted to kick things off by playing at home. Starting with three home games out of four is a really unique situation. We will put in the hard yards to get the season off to a good start,” said Augsburg head coach Jess Thorup. The season will end with a home fixture, too – FCA’s final-day opponents will be Union Berlin, who narrowly avoided relegation last campaign.
