While the leaders in four of Europe’s 5 big leagues completed the week without loss, Real Madrid could not overcome the Girona obstacle in La Liga.

The matches continued at the weekend in the Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga and Ligue 1, which are considered to be the 5 biggest football leagues in Europe.

Arsenal in England, Real Madrid in Spain, Napoli in Italy, Union Berlin in Germany and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in France continued to be at the top of the scoreboard.

Goal win for Arsenal

In the 14th week of the English Premier League, Arsenal continued their leadership by beating Nottingham Forest 5-0. Struggling for the summit, Manchester City beat Leicester City, which wanted to get away from the relegation line, 1-0 with Kevin De Bruyne’s goal in the 49th minute and scored 3 points.

Tottenham beat Bournemouth 3-2 away, Newcastle United beat Aston Villa 4-0 and Manchester United beat West Ham United with a single goal.

While Arsenal continues to lead with 31 points in the Premier League, the last champions Manchester City have 29 points, Tottenham has 26, Newcastle United has 24 and Manchester United has 23 points.

Real Madrid stuck in Girona

In the 12th week of La Liga, the leader Real Madrid continued to lead despite the 1-1 draw with Girona in the match played in the field. Barcelona came to an assertive position in the summit pursuit by beating Valencia 1-0 away. 

Cadiz surprised Atletico Madrid with a 3-2 score. In La Liga, Real Madrid is first with 32 points, Barcelona is second with 31 points and Atletico Madrid is third with 23 points.

Naples full bridle

In the 12th week of Serie A, Napoli, the only undefeated team, defeated Sassuolo with a 4-0 difference. Napoli’s Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen scored a “hat-trick” with 3 goals in the 4th, 19th and 77th minutes, while Georgian player Khvicha Kvaratskelia scored the other goal in the 36th minute.

While Atalanta won 2-0 away from Empoli, Milan lost 2-1 to Torino, where it was a guest, and was injured in the summit race. In Serie A, Napoli with 32 points is followed by Atalanta with 27 points and Milan with 26 points.

Union Berlin miracle continues

Union Berlin, the surprise team of the season in the Bundesliga, continued its leadership by beating Borussia Mönchengladbach 2-1 with a goal in extra time.

The defending champion Bayern Munich continued its claim at the top by beating Mainz 05, which it hosted at home, with a different score of 6-2. Freiburg defeated Schalke 04 2-0 and Borussia Dortmund defeated Eintracht Frankfurt 2-1 away.

In the league, whose 12th week was completed, the leader Union Berlin with 26 points was followed by Bayern Munich with 25 points, Freiburg with 24 points, and Borussia Dortmund 22 with 22 points.

PSG winning the duel

In the 13th week of Ligue 1, the leader Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) won 4-3 against Troyes in the contentious match. The home team won with goals scored by Carlos Soler in the 24th minute, Lionel Messi 55, Neymar 62 and Kylian Mbappe 77 minutes from the penalty spot.

Lens, which started out in the last few weeks, beat Toulouse 3-0 and Rennes overtook Montpellier with the same score. With 35 points, the undefeated PSG continued to lead, while Lens with 30 points took the second place and Rennes with 27 points took the third place.
