Brentford boss Thomas Frank “wouldn’t be a good fit” for the vacant Chelsea and Tottenham jobs, according to former Manchester United defender Paul Parker.

The former Brondby manager took over at the Premier League side in 2018 as he helped them win promotion to the Championship via the play-offs in 2021.

And he has carried on his success at the club into their spell in the Premier League with the Bees finishing 13th in their first season in the top flight and now find themselves ninth this term.

His progress at Brentford has not gone unnoticed elsewhere with Frank linked to the Chelsea, Tottenham and Leicester City managerial vacancies.

And former Man Utd full-back Parker reckons Frank “should be very proud” of being linked with clubs like Chelsea.

Parker SpilXperten: “Brentford haven’t got enough credit for how they’ve performed this season. Brighton and Fulham has been praised a lot, which is fully deserved. But I can’t even describe how impressed I’ve been by Brentford this season. They have been absolutely brilliant.

“It’s absolutely fantastic for Brentford that their manager is being mentioned with Chelsea and they should be very proud. I’ve never heard a bad thing being said about Thomas Frank by the supporters, journalists or others, which is a very good sign.

“I really like the way he manages and I love his arrogance. I love the way he conducts himself. Yes, he does go and say things sometimes and he does voice his opinion but I don’t mind that because he’s got every right to be doing that because of the way the club is performing.

“His arrogance is more about him believing in his players and believing in his own abilities. He is very good with people and he knows how to get the best out of his players. He doesn’t need a £100 million player, he has proved that at Brentford for a long time now.”

Chelsea sacked Graham Potter shortly after Antonio Conte left his role as Tottenham boss, .

But Parker doesn’t think Frank would be suited to any of , he continued: “When he took over the Brentford-job I was not expecting him to last that long to be perfectly honest. But he has done absolutely amazing.

“Now, he is being mentioned with Leicester, Chelsea and Tottenham. First of all, we must say that Leicester isn’t a better club than Brentford. I see no reason why he should leave Brentford for Leicester.

“And then Chelsea and Tottenham… I’m not saying that he is not good enough to manage these kinds of clubs but the two clubs wouldn’t be a good fit. I would be disappointed if he decides to go there because he is too clever to work under Todd Boehly and Daniel Levy.”
