Arsenal are reportedly plotting a ‘sensational deal’ that would see them sign Gleison Bremer from Serie A giants Juventus this summer.

The defender made his name at Serie A side Torino and he admitted last summer that playing in the Champions League is “fundamental”.

“I don’t know where I will play, I am talking to my agent and at the moment, there is nothing defined yet,” Bremer said.

“I am unsure whether I’ll remain in Italy or go abroad.

“One fundamental thing is to play the Champions League next season. This is fundamental to continuing my growth. We’ll define everything in the next few days or weeks.”

Instead of moving to the Premier League, he joined Serie A giants Juventus for an initial €41m. This fee could rise to €50m with add-ons.

The 25-year-old has played 27 times for Juventus this term. They are going through a troubling campaign and

Italian outlet Calciomercatoweb are reporting that a ‘sensational deal with Juventus is looming’.

They are reporting that Mikel Arteta is ‘all over’ Bremer and Arsenal have been told that Juventus want ‘no less than €50m’ for him.

It is suggested that to ‘reduce the cash outlay’, the Takehiro Tomiyasu ‘card’ could be played as part of a potential swap deal.

The report notes that in a ‘normal situation’, Juventus would not accept ‘€30m and Tomiyasu’ for Bremer. But the centre-back, Federico Chiesa or Dusan Vlahovic ‘could be sacrificed’ to balance the books.

As for Tomiyasu, the report claims that his spell at Arsenal is ‘not going according to expectations’.

Tomiyasu has played 41 times in the Premier League over the past two seasons but he has only started six league games this term.

The 24-year-old has slotted in well when given the chance but he may opt to look elsewhere if he continues to be on the periphery at Arsenal.

Kieran Tierney is another of Arsenal’s full-backs being linked with a move elsewhere and he is said to be valued at £30m.

“I think he would be a good fit at Newcastle,” Agbonlahor said.

“It really hasn’t worked for him at Arsenal. He’s probably really considering where he stands right now. He’s not getting a look in when it comes to league games.

“Arsenal are going in a completely different direction to him. He needs to sign for a club where he’s number one. That’s not going to happen at Arsenal – ever.

“Zinchenko is the number one, and we’ve even seen Tomiyasu there.

“I just don’t think he’s at the level that Arsenal need. But as a sixth-place player – I think he’d be a top signing. Get it done, Eddie Howe.”
