VfL Wolfsburg made it three wins in a row, getting the better of Champions League participants Borussia Dortmund 2-0 in their last home game of 2022. Micky van de Ven (6th minute) and Lukas Nmecha (92nd minute) got the goals in front of 28,675 fans at the Volkswagen Arena.

The Wolves are now on an eight-game unbeaten run, with the last three being clean sheets. Their last match of the calendar year is this Saturday, 12 November, away to TSG Hoffenheim (15:30 CET kick-off).

Niko Kovac: “That was a great Bundesliga contest on both sides. I really want to congratulate my team though – we were absolutely on it right from the opening minute. We could have taken some of the many chances we created a little earlier, but despite that I have to say that that was a near-perfect performance today. Let’s try and keep on doing the same.”

Edin Terzic: “We got off to a much poorer start and gave away two clear-cut chances and two corners in the first five minutes, and one of those corners led to the first goal. Only then did we find our way back into the match and start to wrest some of the initiative back. In the first half, there were a few times when we could have equalised. To be fair though, you have to say that the opposition had a few good opportunities as well. After that slow start though, we can’t complain that we came away with the loss.”
