Matchday 18 of the Bundesliga is upon us, with the Wolves travelling to 1. FC Heidenheim (Saturday 20 January, kick-off: 15:30 CET) to get the second half of the season under way. The two teams both picked up a point away from home last weekend, with VfL drawing 1-1 at Mainz and Heidenheim also picking up a 1-1 draw at Köln.
Heidenheim racked up 21 points in the first half of the season – one more than the Green-and-Whites on 20. Head coach Niko Kovac’s side have only won one of their past five matches, but they do have fond memories of the reverse fixture on the opening day of the season, when they beat the newly promoted side 2-0 courtesy of a brace from Jonas Wind.
