VfL head coach Niko Kovac and his team have another three matches between now and mid-November before the league shuts down for just over two months to accommodate the World Cup in Qatar.
After the last competitive fixture of 2022 away to TSG Hoffenheim, a number of players will head off to join their national teams in preparation for the World Cup, while the rest of the VfL squad as well as the coaching and backroom staff will take a well-earned break.
Training will start up again on Thursday 1 December in Wolfsburg for those not involved in the World Cup. There will then be a short Christmas break starting on 23 December before the squad comes back again for training on 2 January.
VfL will play a number of friendlies in December and January, with these still to be finalised. The second week of January will also see them head off to Almancil in Portugal for a training camp. This will be the third time that they have been there, after 2019 and 2020.
