First-half highlights:
8th minute: GOAL! Ducksch plays Agu through on goal but the defender’s shot is parried away by Blumenthal’s keeper. The ball lands at U19 player Salim Musah’s feet, who slots it into the back of the net to give the Green-Whites the lead.
12th minute: Another! Ducksch and Hansen-Aarøen combine nicely, but the final pass takes a deflection off an opposition defender. The ball balloons up into the air and into the path of Jens Stage, who produces an exquisite finish with the outside of his boot to double Werder’s advantage.
14th minute: A quickfire brace for Jens! Stage picks up the ball on the edge of the box and lets fly. His effort beats BSV’s keeper and finds the back of the net via the woodwork to make it 3-0.
24th minute: Musah’s second of the match! Baum’s lovely whipped cross into the box finds Stage. Werder’s number six cuts the ball back to the 18-year-old, who pokes it home to extend SVW’s advantage.
30th minute: Hat-trick for Salim! Captain Friedl’s cross into the middle finds Musah, who is in the right place at the right time once again to give Werder a five-goal cushion.
35th minute: The hosts get one back. After a mistimed kick from Zetterer hits an opposition player, Agu tries to clear the danger. He is charged down by Lammers, however, and the ball deflects off the striker’s shin and loops over a stranded Zetterer and into the back of the net.
41st minute: Ducksch gets in on the action! Hansen-Aarøen squares the ball to SVW’s number 7, who curls it into the far corner to make it 6-1 to the visitors.
44th minute: Blumenthal score again. Lentz lines up a shot from the edge of the box that flies into the bottom-left corner. The referee blows the half-time whistle shortly afterwards, with a 6-2 scoreline in Werder’s favour going into the break.
