The women’s team of 1. FC Union Berlin have arrived at the training camp as part of the summer preparation for the 2023/2024 season. The team will spend a week in Aschheim, Bavaria, where they will play two friendlies.

First session in Aschheim

On Sunday morning, coach Ailien Poese’s team travelled to Aschheim. The town in Upper Bavaria is located northeast of Munich, directly on the A99 motorway ring road. The first session of the training camp was already scheduled for late afternoon. Athletic coach Marcus Liebig started with some mobility exercises. This was followed by passing and dribbling exercises, led by the coaching team. The training was concluded with a kind of football curling, in which the players had to pass as close as possible to a point.

The team’s planning

On Monday morning, the whole team will watch the opening match of the German national football team at the World Cup against Morocco together with the coaching team. Two training sessions will follow later in the day. The Union women will also have two training sessions on Tuesday before the first test match against FFV Wacker München on Wednesday. On Saturday, the team will travel to Bundesliga promoted 1. FC Nürnberg for the second test match. On Sunday, they will also watch Germany’s second World Cup match against Colombia together before heading back to Berlin.
