1. FC Union Berlin has arrived at this year’s summer training camp after a five-hour journey. The team, coaching team and staff will spend the next ten days in Bramberg am Wildkogel, Austria.
From Köpenick via “Soizbuag” to Bramberg
After a short bus ride from the home stadium An der Alten Försterei, the Union squad took an 11:00 a.m. flight south towards the Alps. After the Mozart city of Salzburg welcomed the Eisernen at 12:30 p.m., the journey to their new home for the next week and a half continued shortly afterwards.
Head coach Urs Fischer has 28 players at his disposal for training sessions, meetings and tactical analyses. Only András Schäfer has stayed in Berlin, but will join his colleagues on Friday to complete parts of his rehab close to the team. Midfielder Albion Jahaj has joined the team from the Eisern U19s. After the short stay in Bad Saarow, this will be his second training camp with the professional team.
Arriving and already running
After checking into the team’s headquarters, a short run was on the agenda, especially for the players. The first day, including the arrival, was thus certainly one of the quietest of the coming period in sporting terms, and the players and coaches also enjoyed dinner together with a view to the coming weeks. Tomorrow, Tuesday, the Eisernen will complete their first training session at 10:30 a.m. on the local football pitch in Bramberg (Sportsiedlung 201, 5733 Bramberg am Wildkogel).
The summer training camp will again be presented by long-time Union partner sonnenschutz.de.
