On Saturday, 1. FC Union Berlin will make the trip to Magdeburg to take on Christian Titz’s newly-promoted 2.Bundesliga side at 16:30. The MDCC will be open from 15:00.

Last Match

Urs Fischer’s team started pre-season fixtures with a 3-1 win over Viktoria Berlin on Wednesday. A first-half double from Sven Michel gave Union a dominant lead going into the break. Andreas Voglsammer hit one after half-time before Viktoria pulled one back through Umur Durmurshan. It was a good exercise for the Bundesliga side with three U19s appearing – Yannic Stein, Malick Sanogo and Aljosha Kemlein. New signings Danilo Doekhi, Milos Pantovic, Tim Skarke and Paul Seguin were given appearance time at the Friedrich-Ludwig-Jahn-Sportpark.

Opposition

As 3.Liga winners for the second time, 1. FC Magdeburg are back in Germany’s second tier. Former Hamburg coach Christian Titz has found a home in Magdeburg, playing an exciting brand of football and delivering success. The pre-season schedule start with a win over Viktoria Berlin, but there has already been lots of activity at the club. Tobias Müller, Raphael Obermair and Sirlord Conteh have all switched to Paderborn, while Adrian Malachowski signed for Waldhof Mannheim. Sporting Director Otmar Schork has brought in Silas Gnaka from Eupen, Tim Boss from Wiesbaden, Bayern’s James Lawrence, among others.

Service

The match will be live on MDR. Tickets can be obtained through FCM’s online store.
