Goalkeeper Jakob Busk is back in Berlin-Köpenick and continues his connection to the club. The Danish goalkeeper will join Urs Fischer’s squad and offers competition to Frederik Rönnow and Lennart Grill.

The 1.89m goalkeeper is the second longest-serving Union player behind club captain Christopher Trimmel. Busk joined from Copenhagen in January 2016 and has played a key role in the club’s success in recent seasons. The 28-year-old has made 57 appearances for the club in his six years in Berlin.

“Union and Berlin have become my home. My time here has certainly been marked by highs and lows, with the good moments far outweighing them. Saying goodbye on the last matchday was very difficult for me, so it’s all the nicer to be back here and to continue to be part of the team,” said Jakob Busk after his contract extension.

“Jakob has been with the club for many years and over that time has established himself as an important and reliable part of our team. After the departure of Andreas Luthe and Lennart Moser, we had good talks with Jakob and were able to agree on the continuation of our work together,” said Oliver Ruhnert, 1. FC Union Berlin’s Managing Director of Professional Football.
