U15 goes USA

The Dallas Cup is one of the most respected youth football tournaments in the world, and VfB are entering a youth team into the competition for the first time this year. From 23 to 31 March, Stuttgart’s U15 side will be mainly competing against top American clubs. The announcement of the participating teams and the draw for the groups will be made two weeks before the start of the tournament.

“We’re extremely happy to be involved in this internationally renowned tournament,” said Stephan Hildebrandt, director of the VfB academy. “It’s always worth it when you can gain international experience outside the usual leagues and competitions. We’re sure that the participation in the Dallas Cup will be an experience that will help the boys in their development.”

Encouraging cultural skills

After the first team’s visit to the USA in November 2022, the appearance at the Dallas Cup will be the second visit to the States by a VfB team in recent times. During their stay in Dallas, the youngsters will live with host families, which will enable them to not only improve their language skills but also get to know the American culture directly and build intercultural skills.
