Waldemar Anton was forced to watch VfB’s successful trip to Borussia Dortmund at the weekend from an unfamiliar location: at home in front of the TV, due to a suspension for yellow card accumulation. “It was a bit of a different experience, but I much prefer being out on the pitch myself,” he said in an interview with VfB-TV. Nevertheless, the way his colleagues played in Dortmund certainly put a smile on the 27-year-old’s face: “It was an unbelievable team performance.”
Anton will be back in action this coming Saturday when VfB welcome Eintracht Frankfurt to a sold-out MHP Arena at 18:30 CEST. “We’ve got momentum and self-belief,” the defender said. “With our fans behind us we want to give 100 percent in the game and hopefully pick up all three points.”
