“I became a fan of the club”

Hello Ermedin, welcome to VfB. How good does it feel to be here in Stuttgart?
Ermedin Demirovic: “Extremely good. I’m delighted to be here and I can hardly wait to get started.”

After last season’s clashes with VfB, it was clear when you spoke to the media how much you liked the club’s style of play. And now you can be a part of it…
Demirovic: “Yes, now I can hopefully run rings around opponents the same way we had rings run around us. That was one of the reasons behind my decision. After we played in Stuttgart last winter, I became a fan of the club. I like the team here and the way they play. I know some of the guys already, so it shouldn’t take me too long to settle in.”

What was it like to play here in the MHP Arena as an opponent?
Demirovic: “The atmosphere as an opposition player was incredible, and some of my Augsburg teammates said so at the time. Stuttgart are certainly a force to be reckoned with here.”

How important is it in the decision-making process when you can talk to guys you already know?
Demirovic: “It is important to get a feel for the club. As I mentioned, I already know quite a few of lads in the team. I spent three years with Jeff [Chabot] in the [Leipzig] academy. You know the club, you know the coaches a little bit from the past and some future teammates. That all comes into play when you have to make a decision.”

What will your first few days at VfB look like?
Demirovic: “I just want to find my feet, get to know the team a little better and then hopefully we can put in the kind of performances in Europe that VfB showed last season in the Bundesliga.”
