The start of training and our summer schedule

Tuesday evening, around 18:00 CEST, will see 1. FSV Mainz 05 kick off preparations on their 17th Bundesliga season, the 14th in a row. The first training session will take place at the Bruchwegstadion, and fans will be able to enter free of charge.

From 17:30, fans can enter through the main entrance of the Bruchwegstadion and take places in the “Gegentribüne”, where there will be a catering stand open with a small offering of food and drinks.

Internationals to join the group on July 10th

Tuesday’s initial training group will not include the Zerofivers who represented their home countries in the June international break: Silvan Widmer, Anton Stach, Karim Onisiwo, Jonathan Burkardt, Leandro Barreiro and new signing Aymen Barkok will all undergo their physical checks on July 10th before joining the rest of the squad in full training the following day.

The group kicking off the season on Tuesday, who have already completed their medical assessments over Sunday and Monday, consists of 23 players. These include new signings Maxim Leitsch, Danny da Costa and Anthony Caci, as well as youth team graduates Ben Bobzien, Philipp Schulz, Eniss Shabani and Nelson Weiper. Also present are two players recently returned from loan deals in Edimilson Fernandes, who spent last season at Young Boys BSC, and Marlon Mustapha who has returned from FC Admira Wacker Mödling. Two players are completing recovery training: Jae-sung Lee (Knee ligament strain) and Delano Burgzorg (heart muscle inflammation).
