Back in action!

Yussuf Poulsen dribbled across the training pitch at Cottaweg on Tuesday morning with a broad smile. The RBL striker was not only happy about the numerous fans at the public session, but also about his return to team training.

We spoke to him about his current fitness, upcoming opponent Dortmund and the mood in the squad.

“I did a few extra runs today to quickly get back into my flow. We’ve been very focused in the last three weeks. After the game against Mainz I had problems with my hamstring, not for the first time, but I’ve done a good job recovering and now I have a week to show how fit I am.”

… the Champions League

“We don’t look at what our competitors are doing. It’s about focusing on our own games and doing our job. Our goal before the season wasn’t to get into the Champions League and finish fifth at the same time. So we’re doing everything we can to get the most out of it.
“We’ve got four games left after the weekend. Our form in the last few weeks has been excellent, so I’m very confident about the upcoming games.”

“We have to build on our performance from the last few weeks. If we can do that, I’m very confident that we’ll leave the Red Bull Arena with three points on Saturday.”

“We have a very good group. A lot changed last summer, it’s a completely new squad. We immediately showed good performances again and played good football. The team spirit, our spirit is very important.
“I always try to give advice. We’ve often had situations where we were faced with such a challenge at the end of the season, so I’m trying to pass on my experience to the younger and newer players.”
