Benjamin Sesko’s goal streak continues! RBL and TSG draw 1:1

The first really good opportunity fell to Xavi, who nearly scored in the 16th minute after a dream pass from Dani Olmo. Hoffenheim keeper Oliver Baumann made a strong save, however. Four minutes later, Peter Gulacsi had to intervene to stop a long-range shot from Andrej Kramaric. After that, both defensive lines stood firm and didn’t allow much to happen.

In the 37th minute, Andrej Kramaric was in action again. The Croatian made his way into the penalty area and Peter Gulacsi was once again in the right place. RB Leipzig struck with the next move. David Raum was able to calmly cross and the incoming Benjamin Sesko headed in again to give us the half-time lead (38th).

In the second half, the home team defended higher and Andrej Kramaric, who appeared free in front of our goal, again posed a threat. Final destination? Of course, Peter Gulacsi. After just under an hour, Benjamin Henrichs tried a low shot into the far corner, but Oliver Baumann also had a good chance. Hoffenheim played more offensively, but Marius Bülter aimed too high (67′).

We had to play with fewer players for the last 20 minutes or so because Xavi received a yellow-red card. RBL, however, made the spaces tight and had the opposing attacks under control. Until the 89th minute, when Andrej Kramaric finally headed in the equalizer.

5. Minute: Off we go

RBL starts the engine for the first time and quickly switches gears. Dani Olmo serves Xavi, who passes to Lois Openda. Our goalscorer shoots from just behind the edge of the penalty area, but unfortunately just misses.

17. Minute: Xavi almost takes the lead

Great chance for us! Dani Olmo plays a sweet pass right into the gap to Xavi, who is free. But TSG keeper Oliver Baumann is able to parry.

36. Minute: Kramaric in the penalty area

Hoffenheim comes forward through Andrej Kramaric, who hooks in the box again. The Croatian shoots, but Peter Gulacsi is in the right position and closes the door.

38. Minute: Goooaaalll from Sesko!

Benjamin Sesko’s crazy streak continues! David Raum can calmly cross and finds Leipzig’s number 30 right between two defenders. A well-placed header and the ball is in.

41. Minute: Gulacsi takes action

TSG responded with a counterattack, also with a header. Ihlas Bebou was responsible for it, but it was no problem for Peter Gulacsi.

49. Minute: Kramaric free in front of Gulacsi

Andrej Kramaric with his third shot today and it was a real blast. A flat cross from Marius Bülter finds the TSG attacker, who appears completely free in front of Peter Gulacsi. But our great defense arrives on time.

57. Minute: Nearly there from Henrichs

Slowly, more space is opening up again and our boys almost took advantage of that. Hoffenheim cannot clear the ball and Benjamin Henrichs shoots flat into the far corner. Oliver Baumann has to stretch.

67. Minute: Bülter from distance

Hoffenheim keeps the game close and plays for an equalizer. A clearance by Willi Orban lands at Marius Bülter, who shoots just over our goal.

72. Minute: Xavi with a yellow-red

And we’re one man down. Xavi tackles Anton Stach and receives his second yellow card of the game today.

85. Minute: Final phase is underway

It’s not over yet, of course. But so far we’ve managed to defend everything while outnumbered. Only a low pass from David Jurasek posed a threat because the ball went through our five-meter box.

89. Minute: Kramaric equalizes

And then it happens. Marius Bülter chips the ball from the half-field into the penalty area, where Andrej Kramaric is standing and heads it in.
