- “The fact that our win came from a set piece today showed how hard it was to score a goal. Hertha were very compact so it was difficult to find spaces and play in behind their defensive line. Overall, we did well despite that. We were dominant and had some good chances. It was a good performance against a Hertha side who made things very difficult for us.
We weren’t clinical enough in the first half and we didn’t have the kind of access and route to goal that I would have liked.”

- “It’s not always about how beautifully we played or how we created our goals. What’s important are the three points that we picked up today. In a few phases we could have played a little better, we needed to be better with the final ball and look for the shooting opportunities.”
Dani Olmo:
- “It was very important to have won today. We want to be in the Champions League places and ever points counts. Now we have a week to prepare for the next Bundesliga game and we have seven important league games remaining.
I feel really good and it’s great to be playing more and more. But we’re staying calm and patient and we don’t want to push anything too much.”
Kevin Kampl:
- “We knew it wasn’t going to be easy here. Hertha are fighting to survive and they threw everything they had at it today. We didn’t give them much all game, but it got a little tighter in the final ten minutes and it got a bit end-to-end. Hertha played a lot of high balls into the area – you have to defend those well. The most important thing was simply that we came away with three points. They were big points when you look at the league table.
We’ve picked up two wins in three days no, so that definitely gives you a push as a team. It gives you self confidence again. Next week we’re back at home and we want to go into that with everything we have and pick up the next three points. We want as many points as possible and I’m sure that we can finish the season in a Champions League place if we do that. The icing on the cake would obviously be if we manage to make it back to Berlin at the end of the season. We’ll do everything to do that.”
