Two friendlies in one day!
On the way home from the training camp in Austria, RB Leipzig stopped off in Innsbruck for two friendlies. The first one ended in a 1-0 defeat to Championship side Ipswich Town (1-0) and Marco Rose’s team then drew 0-0 with Werder Bremen.

Highlights
5th minute:
The first chance belongs to Werder. Füllkrug lets the ball run through to Ducksch in the box. His shot is too central and Janis Blaswich is there to save.
6th minute:
Timo Werner has an opportunity at the other end. He finds space down the left and drives forward into the box. Pavlenka pushes his low effort away from goal.
9th minute:
Lois Openda pulls the trigger from outside the area and forces Pavlenka in the Werder goal into a good save.
19th minute:
RBL take a quick free-kick and make their way into the Werder box. Openda, Dani Olmo and Werner combine, with the latter getting a shot away from next to the penalty spot. Pavlenka denies him.
22nd minute:
Schmid is played in behind the Leipzig defence. Blaswich makes the save with his legs.
32nd minute:
Xavi drives through midfield and is brought down in the box. The referee, however, doesn’t award a penalty.
44th minute:
Gruev tries his luck just outside the area and his left-footed strike hits the post.
49th minute:
“Chad” Bitshiabu clears if off the line. Schmid takes it round Blaswich and he squares it for Mbom, who cannot get much behind the shot and our French defender is there to save the day.

7th minute:
Doudou Haidara does well to win possession, but slightly overhits his pass to Benjamin Šeško.
9th minute:
Šeško is able to redirect a corner on target, but his header is caught by the Ipswich goalkeeper.
13th minute:
We nearly take the lead after Ipswich’s goalkeeper struggles to control a back pass. The ball ends up rolling just wide of the goal.
30th minute:
The first half ends goalless.
38th minute:
Emil Forsberg nearly puts us in front with a shot from close range. It’s parried out for a corner by the Ipswich goalkeeper.
45th minute:
Fábio Carvalho drives forward with the ball and plays it through to Emil Forsberg. The midfielder looks to play the ball square to Šeško on the right, but his pass is intercepted by the defender.
51st minute:
Ipswich Town score. Hirst is able to get on the end of a corner, sending his header off the underside of the bar and in.
59th minute:
A strong save from Leo Zingerle denies Ipswich another goal, after the striker was through one-on-one.
