Marco Rose on…

… the friendly:

  • “We wanted to finish the first part of the pre-season, in which we have worked with lots of our younger players, with a friendly. We secured a win today and put in a good performance. We’ve had a good week of training overall.

I saw a team that wanted to play good football and we scored some lovely goals. Our runs and our pressing were also spot-on and the boys did their jobs really well. We had a good game overall.”

… Benjamin Sesko and Fabio Carvalho:

  • “Benjamin Sesko scored his first goal. We signed him because he has enormous potential. He has a strong physique and he brings lots of energy. Now it’s down to us to work with him, develop him and make him even stronger.

Fabio Carvalho also got on the scoresheet and he showed us of his quality. He wants to play good football and he’s good on the ball.

The boys did well for us. They’ll be joined by the players who were away on international duty from tomorrow. That will encourage competition for places, which is exactly what we need.”
