Beginnings
- El Chadaille Bitshiabu was born on 16th May 2005 in Villeneuve-Saint-Georges, close to the French capital of Paris.
- Chad took the first steps of his footballing career at just six years old at US Saint Denis. In 2017, he joined the youth academy at France’s leading club Paris Saint-Germain, going on to sign his first professional contract with them in 2021.
The club has a great reputation in France.
European Champions and an early debut
- On 19th December 2021, he made his debut for the PSG first team in the French cup, becoming the club’s youngest professional player at 16 years and 213 days old, a record previously held by now Bayern player Kingsley Coman. Bitshiabu’s Ligue 1 debut followed in April 2022.
- Despite being just 18 years of age, the Frenchman has already celebrated plenty of success in his young career, arriving at Die Roten Bullen as a two-time French league title-winner.
- Chad has also lifted silverware for his country, playing a leading role for France’s U17s as they won the 2022 UEFA European U17 Championship in Israel.
RBL’s biggest signing
- At a lofty 1.96 metres tall, the Frenchman is the new giant in the squad, eclipsing even Benjamin Šeško (1.94m) and Janis Blaswich (1.93m).
- The last player to wear the number 5jersey at RB Leipzig was Dayot Upamecano – not only are the two French centre-backs connected by nation, number and position, but Upamecano also won the U17 Euros with France back in 2015.
