Getting started together!
The BMW Group is RB Leipzig’s new Official Partner effective immediately. The car manufacturer from Munich, with a plant in Leipzig, will equip the professional team and club with electric cars of their MINI and BMW collections. The players will soon be driving the fully electric MINI Countryman, produced in Leipzig.
Extensive presence in and around the Red Bull Arena
As a new Official Partner, the BMW Group will soon be present during the home games. The automotive enterprise will be visible on the Red Bull Arena‘s LED banners and the giant screen, among others. The BMW Group is also planning several matchday activities to provide an unforgettable experience for the Red Bulls’ fans. Like the “MINI bench”, from where our fans can view home matches from the coach’s perspective.
As part of this new cooperation, the BMW Group and RB Leipzig are also planning diverse joint social engagements in the region. For instance, the company is partnering up with the RBL Funding Initiative that includes an extensive project to promote grassroots youth sports. Additionally, joint activities with the RB Leipzig Women’s Team are also part of the partnership.
Johann Plenge, RB Leipzig’s Managing Director
- “With the BMW Group Leipzig Plant, we have a new mobility partner that is a global leader and brilliantly expands our brand portfolio. BMW Group’s values match ours perfectly: We are united by the drive to pursue our goals in the upmost professional way possible and commitment and the conviction that we can cross boundaries with innovative ideas.
The local closeness with 5,300 employees in their Leipzig plant made the agreement perfectly sound. Therefore, we’re happy for the partnership and joint work ahead of us!”
Petra Peterhänsel, Head of BMW Group Leipzig Plant
- “The collaboration between the BMW Group Leipzig Plant and RB Leipzig is like a perfect wall pass: two strong partners that want to produce something great. Both players are pioneers in their area, play at Champions League level, and inspire people. RB Leipzig is the embodiment of the sporting passion and ambition of our region far beyond our city limits.
The BMW Group plant in Leipzig has also been an important part of city since 2005, shaping it as an attractive employer with great innovative drive. As a regional mobility partner, we are proud to be setting strong ties together with RB Leipzig in the future. Both partners are still relatively new in the city, but are already firmly rooted in the region and have achieved a lot.
But we are already planning beyond that. The fully electric MINI Countryman is a real Leipziger and therefore the perfect vehicle for RB Leipzig. We are proud to shape the future together with the club and to continue to advance our region.”
