Marco Rose
- “Congratulations to Dino for winning, but it’s obviously not a nice feeling for us.
Frankfurt went 1-0 up after a textbook attack. We did a lot right from that moment onwards. We got the ball forwards and created lots of high-quality chances. We wanted to score, but lacked composure from time to time. We tried everything, but didn’t get the goal we deserved. It’s a tough one to take.
That being said, we’ll work on it and go into next week’s game against Bayer 04 Leverkusen with confidence. We want to beat them and have faith that we can do it with our fans behind us.“
Christoph Baumgartner
- “We just couldn’t put the ball in the back of the net today. All the fans in the ground watched Leipzig dominate and create a lot of chances. We didn’t make the most of them, however, and that’s why we can only blame ourselves for the result.
We didn’t give them many chances and were the better team on the day. It’s a massive shame that we couldn’t get the three points. That’s just football, though. We’ve got to keep going, since we’ve still got a lot to do.”
Lukas Klostermann
- “It’s obviously a very disappointing result, but we didn’t play too badly today. We tried to maintain a high level of intensity when we were attacking. We looked to get forward on the flanks or down the middle and put a lot of dangerous balls into the box, but our killer instinct was missing.
Frankfurt have a good goalkeeper and we also didn’t have much luck today. We’ll go over the game and will aim to be more clinical in our upcoming matches.“
