Adiós, Dani!
Dani Olmo is leaving RB Leipzig after four and a half years and is moving to LaLiga side FC Barcelona. This means that “El Mago” will be working his magic for the five-time Champions League winner and 27-time Spanish champion.
The 26 year-old leaves the Red Bulls as active European Champion and one of the most influential RBL players of the past years.
Dani Olmo’s final tally with RB Leipzig includes 148 matches, in which he scored 29 goals and provided 34 assists (the 8th highest in RBL history), winning a total of three titles.
Thank you for the great time we shared together and we wish you all the best in the next step of your career.
The best of Dani Olmo at RB Leipzig
Marcel Schäfer, Sportive Managing Director
- “Dani Olmo is an exceptional player, as he most recently demonstrated at the European Championship. He has proven his worth time and time again for RB Leipzig and experienced many sporting highlights with our club: above all the 2020 Champions League semi-final, the two DFB Pokal victories and the 2023 Supercup win, where he scored a hat-trick.
Dani came to Leipzig in 2020 as a great prospect and was able to develop further year after year. As a result, he has reached the absolute top level, is now one of the best players in his position and was understandably in high demand this summer.
His move to FC Barcelona is therefore once again a recognition of the good work carried out in Leipzig. Dani was not only a very valuable player for RBL on the pitch, he also has a great character and a strong personality. We wish Dani all the best for his future and look forward to hopefully seeing him again soon on the international stage!”
Once a Leipziger, always a Leipziger!
Dani Olmo
- “It was indescribable to play for this club and in front of these fans. We were able to celebrate together the first titles in the club’s history with the two Cups and the Supercup. It was a dream for me to move from Croatia to Leipzig four and a half years ago. The city became my home in recent years… years that have had a huge impact on me as a footballer, but also as a person. I will be forever grateful for that!”
Special thanks also go to Marco Rose, with whom I have built up a very good relationship. It is not easy to leave now, also because of him. I wish him and the team only the best. Once a Leipziger, always a Leipziger!”

Twice Pokal winner, European Champion & Top Scorer
Dani Olmo was present on the pitch in the last three DFB Pokal finals with the Red Bulls, he raised the trophy twice under the Berlin night sky and provided the assist for Christopher Nkunku‘s opening goal in the title defense against Eintracht Frankfurt (2-0).
The past season started brilliantly for Dani: The attacker scored all three goals in the Red Bulls’ 3-0 win in the Supercup against FC Bayern Munich. What followed was a challenging season with a number of injuries, but towards the end of it he scored five more goals and provided five assists.
At the 2024 European Championship, Dani not only crowned himself the record European champion with “La Furia Roja”, but together with his teammate Lamine Yamal, he was also honored as the top scorer of the tournament.
