Benjamin Šeško scores his first brace for RBL

For the first time in more than two years (and therefore the first time under Marco Rose), RBL have used the same starting XI in back-to-back Bundesliga games.

Xavi Simons has now scored a goal in his last two games, having previously netted to make it 5-1 against Stuttgart. It was also the 900th league goal scored by RB Leipzig (Oberliga to Bundesliga).
Benjamin Šeško scored his first two Bundesliga goals to make it 2-0 and then 3-0.
The goal to make it 3-0 was the 100th RBL goal scored under head coach Marco Rose.
We have scored the last nine of our ten goals this term in the second half.

Benjamin Henrichs and Dani Olmo both provided their first assists of the season.
Xavi was once again involved in two goals in a single match. In addition to scoring once himself, he also set up Šeško for our second of the night. His five goal involvements are the second-most in the division, behind Victor Boniface (Bayer 04 Leverkusen; 6).

Just like last weekend against Stuttgart, RBL managed to beat the team sitting top of the table going into the matchday.
Head coach Marco Rose has now won 31 of his 45 competitive games in charge of the club, including 21 wins from 32 league games.

Each of our last six (!) games against Union ended with a scoreline of 2-1. This time, there was finally a different result.
After losing 2-1 in each of our last five league games against Union, we have finally put an end to this negative run.

The last coach to win away at FCU prior to this run was Leipzig’s Marco Rose, when he travelled to Köpenick in February 2022 with Borussia Dortmund.
