Match report
Dani Olmo
- “That was an incredible performance from the team. We ran a lot and made a lot of good decisions. There is no better way to start the season than with a win in Munich.
I’m definitely taking the match ball home with me, it will be a nice memento. We have a young team with lots of potential and want to attack the league head on. We’ll have to see what we can achieve if we consistently perform well.”
Marco Rose
- “Dani Olmo is an outstanding footballer. It was a great performance by him and by the whole team too. The way he took the second goal was fantastic. The thing that impresses me even more though is how he drives the team on and helps the younger players.
We won 3-0 and scored some nice goals. On top of that, we kept a clean sheet. The team worked extremely hard and we had a solid goalkeeper in Janis Blaswich too. There were one or two nervy moments, but this game should give us a boost for the future, even if we know we can do some things better.
You can’t keep Bayern quiet with all their quality for the full 90 minutes. We obviously sat back a bit at times, but we were clever from our counter-attacks. We’ve started well against a good team today and we face another strong side next week in Leverkusen.”
Max Eberl
- “We came into this game somewhat blind. We have come from a long pre-season and you never really know where you stand. Bayern were able to announce a huge transfer today, but we didn’t let that unsettle us. I think we deserved to win the game.”
We always want to win, regardless of where we are playing. We did really well tonight and as I already said, we deserved to win.”
The new signings performed really well. Playing in a new team and a new country is a challenge. It has to be said that the old players have made life really easy for the new lads, we noticed that already during the training camp. The mood was good and they have settled in quickly.”
Willi Orban
- “This win feels brilliant, we had to work really hard for it. We had a bit of luck at times, but I think we played really well and deserved to win.
We lost the ball too easily on a number of occasions in the first half. We were a bit sloppy, but improved on that after the break.”
