THIS IS LEIPZIG

You Can Do Anything

RB Leipzig was founded on 19th May 2009 and has been a part of a special city with a long footballing history and a great passion for the sport ever since. We have continued to write history with four promotions in seven years to reach the Bundesliga in 2016.

Top 4 in Europe and cup winners

We have since established ourselves among Germany’s top teams and have qualified for the UEFA Champions League seven times.

Those strong performances have also been seen in Europe too, having reached the semi-finals of both the Champions League (2020) and the Europa League (2022) in recent years.

We celebrated our greatest successes to date in Berlin’s Olympiastadion: on 21st May 2022, RB Leipzig won the DFB-Pokal for the first time in an dramatic final against SC Freiburg (4:2 on penalties).

One year later, on 3 June 2023, the team won the DFB-Pokal again by beating Eintracht Frankfurt (2:0).

On August 12, 2023, we won our next trophy: RB Leipzig secured the Supercup for the first time by defeating the German champions FC Bayern Munich with a score of 3:0.

This special year also included the important promotion of our women’s team, which on April 17, 2023, successfully made the leap to the first Women’s Bundesliga!

Clear philosophy both on and off the pitch

RB Leipzig stands for attractive and dynamic football, with young and ambitious players and a clear philosophy which has been fully embodied by our 20 academy sides and our women’s team.

RB Leipzig means football fun for the whole family, in a peaceful environment and with a great atmosphere. With the support of an entire region, this club is making its way towards new horizons.

RB Leipzig is young, dynamic, feisty, and open-minded. RB Leipzig wants to inspire people to fulfill their potential. In Leipzig, in Germany, and all over the world.

We want to keep writing history – our club is only just getting started.

#YouCanDoAnything

We want to achieve great things!

Along with the success of our first team, we also place huge focus on the development of youth. With a total of 20 youth teams (five of which are girls’ teams), we’ve built a fully complete youth structure with teams in every age group from U8s to U19s. All of them have the opportunity to use the wonderful facilities at our training centre at Cottaweg.

In addition, we’ve had a women’s team since the 2016/17 season, who play in Women’s Bundesliga. Our U19 and U17 play in the Youth Bundesliga, while there are also U16, U14 and U12 girls’ teams.

We are football. We are here to play football and to celebrate football. We want to achieve great things.
