Looking for Borussia’s Player of the Month for March

Who will be Borussia’s Player of the Month for March? Three different players were named Player of the Match over the month’s four Bundesliga games in Mainz (1-1) against Köln (3-3), in Heidenheim (1-1) and against Freiburg (a 3-0 defeat). Hack was given the honour twice, while Nicolas and Honorat picked up one each. This trio are now up for Borussia’s Player of the Month for March. Moritz Nicolas: The goalkeeper won the Player of the Month award for both January and February. Can he make it a third in a row? The 26-year-old, who extended his contract at Borussia until 2029 in mid-March, was in goal three times for the Foals last month, and showed himself to be a reliable presence between the sticks during the three draws. Nicolas was named Player of the Match for the 1-1 draw in Mainz.

Robin Hack: Robin Hack will never forget his first derby match at BORUSSIA-PARK. He came on as a substitute in the 70th minute and just 177 seconds later, he had grabbed a brace and turned the game around from 2-1 to Köln to 3-2 to Gladbach. Andree Wiedener in September 1993 was the only previous player to have scored twice within three minutes of coming off the bench. Hack then continued his good run of form with another Bundesliga goal, netting the opener in the 1-1 draw in Heidenheim.

Franck Honorat: Franck Honorat has yet to miss a Bundesliga game for the Foals since his move to Borussia from Brest last summer. After the Frenchman had mainly been used from the bench in February, he won back his place as a key member of the team in March and started all four matches. He also scored the opening goal to put his side ahead in the derby. This was Honorat’s 12th goal involvement this season (three goals, nine assists).
