Just 11 outfield players in training at the start of the new week
With nine players away on international duty, a small group of Foals took to the training ground on Tuesday.
The Bundesliga is currently paused for the final international break of 2023. Borussia coach Gerardo Seoane is therefore working with a reduced squad for the third time already this season. After Tomáš Čvančara was called up as a replacement to the Czech national team, nine Foals are now away with their respective countries.
In Tony Jantschke, Marvin Friedrich, Julian Weigl, Christoph Kramer, Manu Koné, Florian Neuhaus, Nathan Ngoumou, Patrick Herrmann, Franck Honorat, Robin Hack and Alassane Plea, Seoane had 11 outfielders in training on Tuesday. Jantschke, who has been back in team training since last week after recovering from a muscular problem, sat out of the last drill as planned.
Nicolas missing due to illness
Moritz Nicolas was absent at the start of the week due to an infection. The other players missing were Jordan (adductor muscle injury), Lukas Ullrich (shoulder operation), Ko Itakura (ankle operation), Hannes Wolf (meniscus tear) and Jonas Omlin (shoulder operation). Yvandro Borges Sanches trained individually as he looks to continue working his way back to fitness after a thigh muscle problem.
The Foals will train at 10:30 CET on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday this week, ahead of a weekend off. Attention will then fully turn to the away game at Borussia Dortmund on Saturday, 25th November (15:30 CET) when the full squad is together again next week.
