The Borussia Dortmund U23s will kick off preparations for the new 3. Liga season at the end of June. After friendly matches against local teams, the Black & Yellows will depart for training camp in Austria in July.

After three days of fitness tests at the Ruhr University in Bochum, coach Jan Zimmermann will lead his players onto the pitches of the training ground in Dortmund-Brackel for the first time on 29 June. On 2 July, the new squad will face the Westfalenliga outfit Lüner SV at the Schwansbell stadium. Six days later, it’s off to the Waldstadion in Dortmund-Aplerbeck for the annual clash with Oberliga side ASC 09.

On the way to training camp in Kirchberg in the Kitzbühel Alps, the Black & Yellows will contest a friendly against their U23 counterparts at FSV Mainz 05, who play in the Regionalliga. Borussia will spend the week of 15-22 July in Tyrol preparing for their third consecutive season in the 3. Liga.

One week before the start of the new season, the U23s will then visit the Go Ahead Eagles in Deventer, the Netherlands, for a friendly fixture of four 30-minute periods.
