“Both Marco Reus and Raphael Guerreiro have stayed in Dortmund,” Edin Terzic said before the final training session in Copenhagen. But the coach suggested that the duo could be back in the squad as early as Saturday. Their return would be a welcome boost going into the final three fixtures of 2022.

“Marco completed almost the entire training session with us yesterday,” said Terzic. It “just wasn’t quite enough” for him to be included in the squad for the Copenhagen game, but the timetable for him and Guerreiro is clear: “We have decided that both of them will train in Dortmund today and tomorrow, with the aim of having them both ready for action on Saturday.”

Wolf and Rothe also miss out

Marius Wolf and Tom Rothe also didn’t take the flight to Copenhagen. “Marius had an infection a few weeks ago,” says Terzic. There are “recurring days when he feels weak. We now want to look into the matter intensively”. Rothe, for his part, is sidelined with a knee injury. “He took a knock in training yesterday and injured his knee. It had swelled up quite badly when we had a look at it this morning. Unfortunately he won’t be an option for tomorrow.” (br)
