A satisfied Borussia contingent after the triumph in the DFB-Pokal: the match reactions from Sebastian Kehl, Marco Reus, Gregor Kobel and Salih Özcan.

Marco Reus (to Sky): “I had two or three good opportunities beforehand (editor’s note: the goal), but I wasn’t in a good position vis-à-vis the ball. The goal was a bit typical. We don’t need to talk about the fact that I was also a bit lucky. We had a few changes and still managed to make a super start to the game. Hats off! There was a lot of movement in the final third. Jamie (Bynoe-Gittens) played outstandingly, Muki (Youssoufa Moukoko) also did very well. It was a very good performance, the second half a bit less so. We didn’t give away much. That’s why it was a deserved win.”

Salih Özcan (in the mixed zone): “We were aggressive, we were venomous. We absolutely wanted to win the match and were also well in the game in the first half. We should’ve decided the match in the first half. In the second half too, we should’ve sealed the deal by scoring the second goal. That didn’t happen; we have to work on that. All in all, we’re happy to have gone through. We’re more stable defensively and provided you don’t concede a goal, you can’t lose the game. We expect a heated game on Saturday. But we’ll have our fans behind us and we want to exploit our home strength. From tomorrow, the focus is on Bayern.”

Jamie-Bynoe Gittens (on BVB TV): “Yes, it was a deserved, hard-fought win. We defended strongly and created a lot of good chances for ourselves. It was an important victory and it feels good to be in the next round.”

Gregor Kobel (to Sky): “It was a very strong first half. We moved the ball about superbly and were very dominant with the ball. Hoffenheim had nothing at all except for the first chance in the first minutes. The second half was no longer so dominant with the ball, but defensively we did well. They hardly created any chances. That’s why we deserved to win.”

Sebastian Kehl (in the mixed zone): “I’m very happy that we finished off the game within 90 minutes. Because it’s a tough schedule at the moment. In that regard, extra-time would have hurt us. We’re still unbeaten, we’re on a great run, we’re very stable at home, we’re in good form and condition, and we have a big squad. The changes worked very well. The coach will be spoilt for choice at the weekend.”
