Borussia Dortmund U19 players Marian Kirsch and Hendry Blank are moving up to join the club’s U23 squad. The two Bundesliga West title winners from this year have signed contracts tying them to BVB until 30 June 2025.
Kirsch joined BVB from Hannover 96 in the summer of 2021 and played 17 of 18 matches in the U19 Bundesliga West. The goalkeeper also made three appearances in the UEFA Youth League.
Blank moved from Bayer Leverkusen to BVB at U16 level in the 2019/20 season. Over the course of the current campaign, the defender became a mainstay in the Black-&-Yellow backline. The 18-year-old made 15 appearances in the U19 Bundesliga West and seven in the UEFA Youth League. His last-minute goal in the Youth League play-off match against Hibernian will live long in the memory.
At the weekend, U23 goalkeeper Silas Ostrzinski also extended his contract until the summer of 2025. In the past season, the 2021 German U19 champion played twice in the 3. Liga and seven times in the UEFA Youth League.
