BVB coach Edin Terzic led his players through a 75-minute session on Tuesday morning at the club’s training ground in Dortmund-Brackel.
Terzic still has to do without the internationals, who are expected back in Dortmund at the weekend. In addition, Mateu Morey and Julien Duranville were missing due to individual load management. Newcomer Felix Nmecha was able to join the session after recovering from an ankle problem. As in the past few days, players from the U23s and U19s supplemented the training squad.
Fitness coach Shad Forsythe took charge of the beginning of the session, as the players built up a sweat for half an hour in hot summer conditions. Afterwards, assistant coaches Armin Reutershahn and Sebastian Geppert led the players through a passing drill in which Terzic demanded a high tempo. Finally, an intense small-field game with reduced-size goals rounded out the session.
The first team will play their opening friendly fixture of preseason in Hamm on Wednesday. Kick-off against the Oberliga side Westfalia Rhynern is scheduled for 18:00 CET (LIVE on BVB-TV by 1&1). (cr)
