Manchester United have told Eintracht Frankfurt they stand ‘no chance’ of signing Victor Lindelof this summer despite their interest.

Plenty of ins and outs are expected at Old Trafford this summer, but Lindelof is one star who could now stick around.

After struggling to initially establish himself under Erik ten Hag,

With Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez each nursing injuries in 2023, Lindelof stepped up in their absence.

The 28-year-old started in 14 league matches and played 35 games across all competitions.

Eintracht Frankfurt tried to sign Lindelof in January, but Ten Hag was quick to veto the deal and keep him around.

According to BILD, the Bundesliga club now stand ‘no chance’ of signing Lindelof this summer.

With Evan Ndicka set to depart this summer, Frankfurt were keen on landing the Swedish defender as his replacement.

However, Ten Hag clearly sees a future for Lindelof at Old Trafford and wants to keep him around for the foreseeable future.

His contract with Man United runs until 2024, with the option of an extra year in the deal.

While Ten Hag is keen on signing another defender this summer, he still has Lindelof in mind.

The likes of Harry Maguire and Eric Bailly will be available on the market, although selling them might not prove easy.

Tottenham are said to be interested in Maguire,

While Ten Hag seems keen on getting rid of Maguire, the Dutch boss was full of praise for Lindelof in the second half of the season.

“He’s playing fantastic,” Ten Hag told BBC back in May when discussing Lindelof.

“Really good games in and out of possession. Today, totally defending in control, but then building up as well, good positioning, good decisions, so we are happy with that.

“We already have seen we have many players, including Lindelof, who are determined to win the game in attack and defence and that is what you need if you want to be successful.”

With a transfer to Eintracht Frankfurt no longer on the cards for the defender, it seems as if he will be at the club next season.
