Borussia Dortmund’s eFootballers have suffered a narrow defeat in their opening match of the Virtual Bundesliga (VBL) at the offline event in Cologne. BVB were beaten 3-2 by VfL Bochum.

In the first of three games, a 2-vs-2, coach Alexander Steinmetz opted for eFootballers Dennis Malcherczyk and Roee Feldman. VfL won the game 2-1.

In the subsequent 1-vs-1, Feldman played on his own. A loss would have meant there was no need for a third game, but Feldman withstood the pressure and took a 1-0 lead early on. However, his opponent from VfL “PredatorFIFA” struck back and came from behind twice in the match to salvage a 2-2 draw.

Bradley Destoop was hoping to earn a point for his side with a victory in the last game. However, he was held to a draw by VfL’s “TimoX”, so the Black and Yellows had to accept defeat in the opening game of the season.

However, BVB won’t have to wait long for an opportunity to get a first win under the belts, as they have three games on Tuesday (against Mönchengladbach, Hannover and Paderborn).

For the first time, Borussia Dortmund are inviting fans to come to a home game at SIGNAL IDUNA GAMING PARK. The gaming arena at Basestack (Kampstraße 1, 44137 Dortmund) has space for 150 fans and is open to the public from 16:30 CET. Come along and support BVB live in the arena! Entry is free of charge.
