Borussia Dortmund’s women won their first Bezirksliga home game of the year 12-0 (6-0) against SV Hohenlimburg II. Mandy Reinhardt and Mia Macarena Bedarf each managed a hat-trick in the Black and Yellows’ comfortable victory.

15 wins from 15 league games and a 15-point lead from second place. The Black and Yellows are marching inexorably toward their big goal for the season – promotion to the Landesliga. Five days after the narrow exit in the Westfalenpokal at the hands of Bochum, coach Thomas Sulewski made four changes to the starting eleven. Hanna Hentrich and Denise Pörteners came in for Lisa Klemann and Virginia Glanzer in the full-back positions, while Lea Rogge-Herper and Mia Macarena Bedarf replaced Ana Louisa Zabell and Vanessa Kuhl in midfield.

Mandy Reinhardt put BVB on the road to victory early on with a driven shot after just four minutes. Just as they were in Ahlen, however, the league-leaders were then wasteful with their numerous chances, with Mia Macarena firing a penalty against the outside of the post on 14 minutes. The second goal of the day was an own goal from Laura Füchtenschnieder after 18 minutes.

In the middle of the half, Sulewski shouted loudly from the sidelines: “More consistent, girls!” His team duly obliged, as Marie Grothe and Lea Rogge-Herper scored a quick-fire double on 27 and 28 minutes to make it 4-0. Reinhardt sent her side into the break at 6-0, scoring on 40 minutes before sealing her hat-trick two minutes later. “It wasn’t that easy because the opposition were sitting very deep and gave us little space in the box. Ultimately, however, it was job well-done,” said Lea Rogge-Herper, who provided three assists in addition to her goal.

After the sides changed ends, it remained a one-sided affair. Borussia went up a gear. Mia Macarena Bedarf opened re-opened the floodgates on 47 minutes before the away side’s Chantal Iwanetzki found her own net with 53 minutes on the watch. The 09th goal of the day once again came from BVB’s number 9, Mandy Reinhardt, on 71 minutes. In the closing stages, Mia Macarena Bedarf made it 10-0 on 77 minutes and sealed her hat-trick for the 12-0 final score on 83 minutes, with Annika Billig getting in on the action in between.

“We played decent football. No one is injured. We could have scored a few more goals, but 12-0 is fine,” said coach Sulewski in summary.
