Shortly before the start of the Virtual Bundesliga (VBL), Borussia Dortmund have opened the SIGNAL IDUNA GAMING PARK as their new home of eFootball.

The eFootball squad and the kit for the 2023/24 season were presented to an audience of around 200 guests. There were also show matches played between the eFootballers and the guests. From now on, VBL home games will be held in the SIGNAL IDUNA GAMING PARK. The first home game will take place on 21 November. The SIGNAL IDUNA GAMING PARK is located in the premises of the BASESTACK at Kampstraße 1 in the city centre of Dortmund.

“The opening of the SIGNAL IDUNA GAMING PARK in the heart of Dortmund’s city centre is a real milestone for the eFootball department. We will be the first club in the VBL to be able to host our home games in front of fans, giving our fans the best possible experience. Many thanks to all those involved and the partners who have managed this project with a great deal of blood, sweat and tears,” said Alexander Mühl, director of marketing and digitalisation at BVB.

The first VBL matchday will take place next Saturday, 18 November in Cologne as a big offline event involving all the clubs. For BVB, it is a local derby against VfL Bochum, starting at 18:30 CET. The full schedule of the VBL can be found here. In the North-West division, BVB will square off against teams including Bayer Leverkusen, Holstein Kiel and Hannover 96, among others.
