The mandatory fitness tests were already completed in recent days. Now it was time for Anthony Losilla and co to get back out on the grass. 300 VfL fans were in attendance to watch the lads train. They saw a still manageable line-up, but also an external newcomer in the form of striker Philipp Hofmann.

Philipp Hofmann was out having moved to VfL from Karlsruher SC. He will play in the Bundesliga for the first time in the new season. Also “new” is Kevin Stöger, the playmaker has returned to Bochum from Mainz. However, the fans did not get to see him today. Stögi, like Simon Zoller, is suffering from slight health problems. However, both should be back in the mix shortly.

The third external newcomer, Jacek Goralski, will be absent for a little longer. He joins the list of blue and white internationals who are still on vacation after their international appearances. More precisely, these are: Erhan Masovic, Armel Bella Kotchap, Takuma Asano, Patrick Osterhage, Christopher Antwi-Adjei and Gerrit Holtmann.

Accordingly, the training group on this Monday was manageable. Three keepers were there. Manuel Riemann, Michael Esser and Paul Grave.
