223 appearances, 12 goals and 32 assists – Daniel Brosinski certainly achieved and experienced a lot following his move to FSV from SpVgg Greuther Fürth in 2014. He’s been a key part of Mainz’s recent history, and his Zerofivers career will end with one final appearance against Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday. The 33-year-old’s contract expires this summer and won’t be renewed, something which both parties have agreed on. Despite being set to leave the Zerofivers, Brosi will look back fondly at his time at the club and is also anticipating a very emotional farewell on Saturday. “It’s not just a footballing chapter of my life which is ending,” commented the full-back.
“I will always look back on my time at Union with incredibly fond memories. What we have achieved together over the last few years will always fill me with a great deal of pride, and that is why I would like to expressly thank my team-mates, the coaching and support team, all fans, staff and those responsible for the past two years,” said the goalkeeper on his farewell.

Nico Schlotterbeck on the balance of play:
“It was a very heated, great atmosphere and yet we had them almost completely under control in the first half. After it went to 2-1, Jamie had a killer chance to score. If he makes it 3-1 then, it’s over. In the second half, you simply have to close the game out. Then it’s not a question of what if. Nonetheless, you cannot concede the two goals. Now they’re celebrating the 2-2 like a victory.”
